The personnel who work at the Kahler Inn & Suites are terrific. Helpful, knowledgable, and pleasant. Only downside was the suite with kitchette we booked wasn't available for several days after we arrived. Rooms are serviceable. Needs some maintenance and freshening up. Maid service was excellent.
It is very convenient when you are at the Mayo clinic. Most everything can be done without going outside.
We liked the room layout and cleanliness of the room. The location was also high on our list while visiting Rochester mn. We make trips to Mayo two to three times per year and have stayed at the Best Western Solider Field in the past but wanted something of a bit higher quality with our recent visit. We loved every thing short of the parking and the beds.
The beds had to be the worst.... We loved the hotel but don't plan on staying again because of the beds. Please let us know when you update to a pillow top or higher end bedding. The blankets were also to lite for our choosing. Over all we like a cozy feel to our night sleep. This is not what we found at the hotel.
Cannot access subway walk after 6:30 pm. Not good for wheelchair patients who want get to restaurants without going outside.
the only thing i did not like was sitting in the bathtub and looking over at the toilet and seeing icky black dirt under the rim on outside of toilet. it had been there for awhile so i feel like the cleaning staff needs to be informed to clean better on the toilet. other than that it was a very pleasant stay . Thank You.
The location of the hotel to where I needed to be. I would stay there again.
We were in Rochester to go to Mayo Clinic. Kahler Inn and Suites is ideal for this. They are connected to the clinic via underground walkway. It takes less than 5 minutes to get to the clinic from the hotel. The room we chose also had a stove/oven, refrigerator, microwave and kitchen sink. There were pans, utensils etc provided. This came in handy, so we did not need to eat out every meal.
The dishes and utensils provided were not very clean when we got there. Apparently the hotel trusts the previous guest to leave them clean. The floors were not very clean. The bathroom floor had some hair on it when we arrived. If we walked around in white socks, they would be very dirty within a short time. It was obvious the hotel staff did not pay attention to the little cleaning details that add up.
Room not clean , air condition location in the room next to the bed , break feast very limted choices
Ample room with full kitchen - good for longer stays.
Aspect of main entrance and lobby. Did not stand for the rest of the hotel
Discription of room made it sound like the room was going to be bigger. All in all was a little cramped
Convenience to Mayo Clinic and access to downtown area thru tunnels
Had been quoted a rate od $89.00/night which was advertised e-mail rate and after 4 day stay found it to be much more!!!!
Location near Mayo Clinic, Rochester, mn
My sister, mother and I have stayed at Kahler Inn and Suites 4 times in the last year. This time, the room did not seem very clean. The attention to detail lacked a bit. There was a layer of dust on every surface and we had to ask for certain items that are usually included. We will stay there again because of the location to Mayo and hopefully the room will be clean. We have not had any issues with them in the past except for this visit. The price is higher than we would like to pay but the location is the motivating factor.
Very convenient to Mayo Clinic.
Not particularly friendly, attractive or interesting. Basically a budget motel with a higher price tag.
We stayed at the location due to its location next to the Mayo Clinic. My parents had appointments all day and the first one was at 6 a.m. We needed to be in town the night before to get to the 6 a.m. appointment. It worked out great.
Proximity and convenience to mayo clinic--helpful, patient staff--coffee and food on the premises--nice relaxing room on second floor to "hang out"--don't need to drive at all to downtown area or mayo--connected by tunnels so no worries about weather
